Each year the BBC Music Magazine commissions a brand new Christmas carol for their readers, and I am really pleased to have written this year's carol! Titled 'A Winter Carol', I decided to write and set my own poem. The words, which depict snowy scenery and starry allusions to heaven and earth, also include a modern twist as I dream of walking home at Christmas time under the warm glow of the street lamps all covered in a silver frost.
This carol is for you to sing in your choir, with your local community, or just with friends and family at home! The carol is available in this year's Christmas edition of the magazine (out now!), it is also free to download on their website over the next month here shorturl.at/gvU58, or further copies can be obtained from Boosey & Hawkes.
I hope that you might enjoy singing 'A Winter Carol', a big thank you for taking the time to do so, and Merry Christmas!
