Southbank SoundState Festival /Guardian Review

As part of the Southbank Centre’s SoundState Festival in January, the Eblana String Trio premiered Mason’s new work Into The Abyss, I Throw Roses, which was inspired by words from Friedrich Nietzsche’s Posthumous Fragments. The work was commissioned by the Park Lane Group with funding provided by the RVW Trust and was described as a ‘beautiful and muscular piece’ in the recent four-star Guardian Review.

You can find out more about the new piece here, or read the Guardian festival review here.

Across a variety of concert halls at Southbank Centre, there was music addressing all sorts of heavy subjects. Grace-Evangeline Mason’s Into the Abyss, I Throw Roses was a beautiful and muscular piece for a string trio inspired by a Nietzsche quote
